About Edwin
Having taught at the high school and university levels for over two decades has reconfirmed for me that an encouraging environment is just as essential as content knowledge for learning to occur. In fact, I created an educational nonprofit that emphasizes encouraging learning environments within its curriculum. I am adaptable to a range of student learning styles and grade levels. I feature deep content knowledge, decades of accomplished experience as a teacher and academic coach. My style is encouraging, methodical, and cultivating of confidence in my students. My specialty is in the Social Sciences, which includes History (US & Global), Government, Geography, Civics, Sociology and International Relations. Also, I teach languages (Spanish & English) at all levels.
100% fluent in Spanish & English. Both are my native languages.

It is a privilege to recommend Edwin Hirschfeld! I worked with Edwin at a small boarding school in New York, and got to know his reputation quickly from the students themselves! Three words to describe Edwin off the top: Earnest, driven, inspiring. How did his students describe him? Life changing, cool, fun, respected. During the pandemic, he was a star teacher as he could bring the Zoom classroom experience to LIFE and inspire students through the screen. That is HUGE. To say he was the most respected teacher at our school would be an understatement.
