About Fiona

My goal as a tutor is to help students understand the why behind each method, not just the steps. I place strong emphasis on problem-solving, visual models, and clear thinking, especially for word problems. When students understand how to think, they become more confident, independent, and less afraid of challenging questions. I enjoy teaching because I get to see students move from confusion to clarity. Watching a student explain their own solution clearly, without prompting, is the most rewarding part of teaching for me. In my lessons, I create a safe and supportive environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and think aloud. Progress is built steadily, with structure, patience, and consistent guidance. If you are looking for a tutor who focuses on strong foundations, clear explanations, and long-term understanding, I would be glad to support your child in their learning journey.
