About Aira
I have 6 years of piano teaching experience and hold a BA in Musicology focused on Piano History. My lessons emphasize jazz improvisation, comping, and developing a rich harmonic vocabulary. I use a holistic approach, integrating ear training, transcription, jazz theory, and rhythmic precision. I have taught Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate students, as well as professional jazz musicians. Students develop fluency in improvisation, chordal accompaniment, and melodic phrasing. Lessons explore harmonic substitutions, stylistic interpretation, and creative expression. I encourage rhythmic awareness and aural development.
