I am a dedicated and patient tutor with over 10 years of experience working with children in both academic and caregiving settings. I have worked with students from pre-K through 7th grade as a babysitter, volunteer tutor, and classroom teacher, supporting learners with diverse backgrounds and learning needs.

As a tutor, I take a student-centered, supportive, and flexible approach to teaching my students. My teaching is constantly adapting based on the needs of each child, including their learning style and rate of progress through clear explanations, modeling, and guided practice. I will also help children to build confidence in themselves and support them to develop a growth mindset so they feel confident about asking questions about their learning and feeling comfortable making mistakes.
Each lesson will typically consist of a brief check-in and goal setting, then a brief explanation or review of the skill, followed by a period of guided practice with me, and finally time for independent practice to apply what they learned. Each session will conclude with a brief review and encouragement for the student.
What makes me unique as a tutor is my ability to build a strong rapport with students while continuing to increase their confidence through adjusting the instruction to better match their needs in real time.Students will have meaningful, engaging, and low-pressure learning experiences.
My lessons are primarily geared toward elementary and middle school-aged students who require support with reading, and English, including English language learners and students who would benefit from receiving personalized instruction.
