About Julie
I am currently a Senior Care Assistant but have also worked in retail and, though I am new to online tutoring, have gained my experience form working in schools and colleges as learning support - assisting teachers in lessons in and outside the classroom - and am passionate about encouraging students to realise their potential and to access the curriculum in ways that allow them to be successful achievers, enabling a good choice of career for adult life.

My method of teaching usually depends on the students I am working with because people respond to learning in different ways, however I am methodical, thorough and always ensure that there is a full understanding of the lesson's content before moving to the next topic. My aim is to encourage reading and language skills, writing meaningful sentences and paragraphs, and to learn to express yourselves through writing. I will teach the importance of English language and using the correct grammar, accuracy in letter writing, job applications, spelling, poetry and prose, essay writing at the pace of the individual student to maintain a good understanding of the subject.

Details
If i do need to visit a student at home then will charge travel expenses if the distance is too far to walk, as i use public transport for travel..though prefer to tutor mainly online where possible. In the case of genuine hardship prices can be negotiated, and last minute cancellations where i am not able to replace the lesson with another student will be charged the full hourly rate, and other cancellations half the hourly rate unless re-booking an alternative tutoring session where the candidate will not be charged.
