About the lesson

It's very common to observe that, when learning a new language, people try to start with basic expressions such as "Hi", "Goodbye", "Good morning", "I'm sorry", "Thank you", etc.

However, this also implies the student will start trying to speak these expressions without even having understood how the phonology of the language works and will certainly have problems with the pronunciation of certain words or they'll believe that their pronunciation is good, even if it may be incomprehensible.

It turns out that all languages are actually made up of a certain number of phonemes. Phonemes are the basic units of pronunciation of any language. After each phoneme of a given language is completely understood, any word from then on will become easily pronounceable and possibly the student will no longer have problems with not being able to pronounce certain words or ending up pronouncing them uncertainly or even even in an incomprehensible way for the natives (which we don't want, right?)

As much as many people usually advise that "it's okay to make mistakes in the beginning", the truth is, if the mistake is not corrected in the beginning, the student will end up getting used to the mistake and it will be much more difficult to correct them in the future. My teaching method seeks to prevent these possibilities, ensuring that you have a complete understanding of the language's pronunciation before you start speaking, resulting in a so much more natural speach as if you were a native speaker!

In my classes I seek to teach Portuguese and its phonemes, starting from the beginning until reaching fluency. Even though many English phonemes may be different from what we are used t, in my classes you will be completely accompanied and guided, in addition to many opportunities to practice.
