About Emma
I am a teacher of Psychology, Modern Studies and Sociology with a passion for my subject and a desire to pass this on to others. I graduated from Stirling University with a first-class degree in Psychology including two years of Sociology. I am also a member of the PVG scheme and I am happy to show evidence of this prior to our first meeting.
I am experienced in teaching and tutoring students at both National 5 and Higher level. For example, previous tutees have gone from a B pass to an A pass and a fail to a B pass. In the current academic year I have gained above the national average of A grades. .
In addition, I also have experience in guiding students at a university level where I was a teaching assistant for a statistics module and a peer tutor. In this role, I helped first to third-year students with their research projects and module content.
I am skilled in working with children and young people with additional support needs and I am currently studying to become a qualified educational psychologist.

My approach to tutoring is flexible and will be based on the needs of each individual tutee. This means I can effectively tailor each session to what is required. I like to look over a student's past work so that we can establish a baseline from which to work and improve upon. I aim to strike a balance between the practical skills needed for the exam and to encourage an individual's enthusiasm for a subject.
