About Maryke
I became a tutor for Second Year Anthropology students at the University of Pretoria. I had to tutor a module on Economic Anthropology where I gave weekly tutorials based on a wide range of topics. I had about 100 students under my care and I was responsible for marking their tutorial assignments.
Next year I am doing my honours in Anthropology and I have a strong grip of the work from first year to third year.

-I am a third-year student, soon to be an Honours student who tutors second-year Anthropology students about Economic Anthropology specifically.
-I like to draw graphs and pictures on the board or show videos to make lessons as visual as possible.
Students are afraid of big questions especially in groups, so I start out my lessons by asking questions that have no wrong answer, to warm students up, and then lead to harder more critical questions.
-I try to make tutorials more like a conversation where students also contribute ideas and points to the discussion instead of me just passively spoonfeeding them information.
