About Sahdev
Hi, I'm Sahdev, a second year Politics, Philosophy and Law student at the University of Warwick, having achieved A*AA in economics, politics and geography at A level. I have over 3 years of tutoring experience and I understand how much of a difference clear explanations and constant support can make to a student's confidence and results. I use unique methods that enable my student to find my lessons enjoyable and productive, ultimately supporting them to come out of these lessons feeling better about the subject. I make sure to adapt to different teaching styles to make sure the student gets the best out of my lessons. Alongside my studies, I am actively involved in University law competitions and careers activities, which has strengthened my communication and organisation. My aim is to not simply help students improve their grades, but to give them confidence and understanding to become bright, independent learners.

My teaching methodology brings the best out of my students by being productive and interactive. My goal is to make these lessons feel enjoyable rather than like another school lesson. To do this, I use analogies when I explain concepts to the students so they can familiarise themselves with it. I also use a unique way of teaching my subjects by asking the student to not view this as content to learn but rather use their real-world experiences to help them in their answers. For example, when teaching economics, I typically ask the student to tell me if they've noticed something they buy regularly increase in price and then I explain that it is a cause of inflation. This allows the student to have a personal experience that relates directly to the content - enabling them to better remember the concept since it is linked with their experience.
My lessons are typically 50 mins - 1 hour long, as I believe any more than that in one go would result in tiredness from the student.
I have over 3 years of experience as a tutor. I have tutored both privately and with companies online and in person (references available at request). I have experience with teaching 11+, GCSE and A Level and I have helped a variety of students achieve top grades in their respective exams. I have experience with teaching a class, a group and 1-1 tutoring. Through tutoring with me, my students have achieved an average of 30% better marks across their papers. My students for A level had mainly started out at Bs and Cs and are now at As and A*s. My GCSE students have also seen drastic improvements. One of my students was on 1s and 2s and within 5 months, he was achieving 4s, 5s and 6s. Most recently I tutored 1-1 11+ and in the space of 1 month, I guided her to achieve 75-80% in all 4 sections having previously been on 40-50%.
