About Brooke
Hi, I'm Brooke! I am a second-year student at the University of Ottawa studying biopharmaceuticals. I am passionate about spreading my knowledge in biology and chemistry. Throughout high school, I volunteered to tutor my peers for exams as well as some middle school students. Science can be super fun and interesting! Sometimes you just need to look at it from different perspectives.

My teaching technique cannot be summed up into one sentence or method because I believe that everyone learns differently. A typical lesson layout would begin with me assessing the way the student learns best and catering the lesson to their learning type. To teach more difficult concepts I like to build onto smaller easier concepts that relate and work up to the more difficult content so students do not become overwhelmed. Learning concepts rather than memorizing them is something that I tend to focus on heavily as memorizing content is not effective for learning. I use methods such as active recall and concrete examples. As a current student myself, I have hours upon hours of studying under my belt as well as many years of tutoring my peers in high school. My lessons are best suited for highschool students.
