About Sonam

I am someone who is a self-made and independent woman. I have faced a lot of challenging times in life, as a born Hindu girl in Pakistan, then an exchange student in an American high school, later moved to India as a Pakistani immigrant. Now I am in Canada as an International student. Living in these different places with a rather unorthodox background helped me appreciate diversity and I learned how to make friends despite being so different from the general public. I am a finance professional with an overall 4 years of work experience and I am currently doing post graduate course at George Brown College in Toronto. I am a focused and determined individual and I love to help out others in every way I can.

I have taught to students from elementary school, middle school, high school and even degree level students. I believe a good tutor is someone who understands their student’s needs and unique study methods. Every child/student has their own personalized way of grasping topics and a good tutor would tailor their style as per that. I am very friendly and can easily build a good relationship with my students, making them feel comfortable to ask their queries without the fear of judgement or shyness. I am patient and kind and love to answer all the doubts the students may have. Regular and proper exchange of feedback and constructive criticism is also essential. I am always receptive to new ideas and improvement points, in order to better cater to my students’ needs. I am also very empathetic and encouraging.
