About John
I am a secondary school, Deputy Director of Science at an 11-18 school in Hull. I specialise in Biology & Chemistry GCSE, with all 3 sciences being delivered up to Y9 age. I will be launching AS & A level science at my school in September 2020 and will then begin offering tuition through to Biology AS & A level also. I teach in a Christian academy, and the students' needs always come first, this is the same when tutoring privately. While the aim is for students to be equipped academically, building a strong knowledge base with clear understanding of what & why, must first be in place. Students learn best in a structured routine, which is something I pride myself on establishing from day one. I am happy to work around your commitments and to create bespoke sessions to your/your child's needs. John has worked at our school for over 2 years and has had promotion during this time. He is a good teacher of science, specialising in Biology but teaching mainly Chemistry. John has very good subject knowledge and would be well suited to being a private tutor.
John has excellent subject knowledge to GCSE level and is able to support students at all levels of ability. He is an experienced marker for AQA, which allows him to effectively support learners with identifying key aspects of revision and examination preparation.
