About Irina
I am native speaker of Russian, and a fluent English speaker. I have a background in Film Studies (that's my MA) and Computer Science (my BA). I have more than 10 years of teaching experience.
I will be happy to teach you my native language and share the love I feel for it. I plan the lessons so that they fit your needs.
I also make sure that you not only learn, but enjoy the experience. Relaxed and enjoyable learning is what makes studying most effective.

In my classes, I will give you:
-dialogue method that my students find so effective;
- an understanding of Russian grammar without overloading with details (only upon request :) );
- a thorough understanding of Russian basic phrases;
- a vocabulary that you will need in everyday life in Russia and Russian speaking countries;
- an acquaintance with Russian culture (literature, history of Russian arts and cinema).

For classes, I use study books and other resources that are used in major English speaking universities where the Russian language is taught and studied as well as study books written in Russia.
I always look for the material that will fit your needs better!
I care a lot about making the rules clear and easy to remember. An accurate grounding in the language’s grammar is important, but equally the lessons are moderately informal.
This allows me to share the joy that learning the language can bring. If you are interested in learning Russian from me in some non traditional way, for example, reading Russian classics in original, or reading film literature together (film scripts, important theoretical works by Soviet avant gardists) please feel free to reach out to me!

Perfect! I started learning Russian with Irina around 6 months ago now. She is an excellent teacher; flexible, accommodating, and adaptive to a learning style that suits me. I've progressed significantly since starting with her and I hope to sit an A2+ level exam shortly which she will help me prepare for. Couldn't recommend her more.
Perfect! Irina has been absolutely lovely - she is very patient and always finds a way to make the lesson interesting! My Russian has improved massively since having lessons with her and she has really helped me enjoy learning the language.

I have been learning Russian for almost two years now, and I highly recommend her! Perfect combination of communication practice and grammar exercises. If you are interested in Russian films and literature, Irina is a perfect teacher for you.
Irina is a great Russian teacher. She speaks fluent English and some other languages, that helps especially if you are a beginner like me. She is kind and always on time! Irina is very professional and adapts her teaching style to my needs. I know I am a very difficult student and she always finds a way to make it work for me. I usually don’t like giving reviews or recommondations, but Irina gets 5 Stars from me and I would recommend her without any hesitation. If you want to learn Russian, don’t look any further: I think she is the best!
Irina has been a very great teacher so far. She's always prepared, friendly, and full of energy. In her lessons there's a good balance between grammar etc. and speaking practice. Furthermore, Irina's English is really good, which is nice for when I need something explained. It keeps the lesson going smoothly. I highly recommend Irina to anyone looking to learn Russian!
