About Michael

Throughout university, I had to learn to balance academics, clubs, work, fitness, a social life and artistic hobbies. I also moved from a small town in B.C. to the biggest city in Canada, and know how difficult it can be to adjust. I know you're facing many of the same challenges, and that good academic performance can not only improve your attitude, but even your health (school is stressful!). I encountered many different learning styles throughout university and helped many peers through projects, exams, quizzes, and worked together to establish routines and study habits that enabled not only high academic performance, but also a higher quality of life, good sleep, and a balanced social, academic, and career focused university experience.

About the lesson

Business school can be hard, more than just understanding the concepts, I know what strategies work best to manage your workload and excel as a student holistically. I'm a visual learner, so a typical lesson will involve learning where you're at and what difficulties you're facing, and using graphs or PowerPoint slides to illustrate concepts clearly and work together to break down, develop an approach, and solve problems. At the end of the lesson, we will develop an action plan to stay on top of work and implement learning strategies to improve before the next lesson. I graduate with distinction, and if you're going to UofT, I have lots of direct experience to help you excel!

I have known Michael for years and he is incredibly intelligent and endlessly fascinating with all things from business to literature. He is very strategic when trying to explain or breakdown concepts, which was really put to the test during my own exam season in which I had a section focused on micro economics (I’m a criminology student and cannot process numbers for my life) and he sat with me and kept finding different ways to explain things until we found one that I was able to register in my own way. He is incredibly kind and outgoing, and extremely mindful of others and the various learning styles in order to find ways to best connect the material to the student. I would HIGHLY recommend :)
