About Karrie
As a retired teacher, I have 34 years of experience in designing lessons that optimize learning for students. Of the 34 years, 32 were spent teaching Spanish 1 to Advanced Placement (AP) at the high school level and also Spanish 1 & 2 at the college level as I received my Master's in Spanish. I have traveled to Spain on 2 occasions and Mexico on 1 occasion, all of which gave me the motivation to learn even more and grow in my abilities as well. I genuinely love this language and really enjoy being able to share my excitement about it to others.

Teaching methodologies: I use techniques that meet the needs of each student. If a student needs help with speaking, I will design lessons to be conversational. If a student needs help with reading and writing, I will use target language readings and help the student to extract meaning from the reading via written questions.
Typical Lesson Plan: Greet student in the target language and have a brief conversation in Spanish. Present or explain new information for that session. Assist the student in a guided practice, then allow the student to complete an individual practice.
My Attributes: I truly enjoy teaching & tutoring. Having taught for 34 years, I feel well-equipped to meet the learning needs of any student. Humor and fun will be a big part of each lesson.
Student Requirements: Any student from middle school to college seeking to improve their skills in Spanish and open to learning this wonderful language.
