About Arin
I'm Arin, my pronouns are they/them and I'm a Queer actor-musician. I have loved the violin for 20 years, but realise that some people can have sub-optimal experiences with teachers and be put off learning their instrument. I want to be a safe space for everyone, including disabled, neurodivergent and Queer students, and create the most enjoyable and accessible learning experiences I can.
I have a Masters Degree in Actor-Musicianship from Rose Bruford College. My other violin-related experience includes:
3 years in the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra, 1st and 2nd violin.
Principal violinist and soloist in Exeter University Symphony Orchestra.
3 years in Exeter University musical theatre orchestras.
Solo violin at Edinburgh Fringe 2016 and 2018.
Principal violinist for Exeter Footlight's Phantom of the Opera.
Professional pit musician at Exeter Northcott and Exeter Barnfield.

I want students to learn in the way that is most enjoyable for them. I can teach pop songs, show tunes, folk and classical pieces depending on what interests the individual. I am a professional Actor Musician and have my Grade 8 certificate. My lessons are for people of all ages, from beginners to Grade 5 standard, whether it's just for fun, or for exam preparation. I have an inclusive, relaxed and flexible teaching style and my lessons would normally be 30 or 60 minutes long, but I'm happy to go shorter than 30 minutes if preferred. Parents/guardians/caregivers are welcome to sit in.
