Maija was my colleague when I worked as a Part I Architectural Assistant, and she has continued to be a mentor since — someone I can always turn to for advice on architecture, construction, and career development. She is conscientious and observant, and has the ability to extract talent and passions in others, helping them discover their own direction and motivation. After discussing a project or challenge with Maija, I always leave the conversation feeling inspired and excited, full of ideas. Maija taught me a new approach towards architecture that I still carry with me 6 years later. Her rigorous and regular way of teaching helped me to be very structured but also be motivated to always progress in terms of design and production. Always ready with ideas and references, there was never a tutorial where I felt I didn't make a step forward.
