About Harry
I took a BSc in Mathematics (1st Hons) and MSc in Pure Mathematics (Distinction) at Imperial College London, then completed a PhD in Pure Mathematics at the University of Manchester, focusing on noncommutative algebra, algebraic geometry, and category theory. I have experience tutoring both small and large groups of university students from my time at Manchester, where I taught problems classes on a range of pure and applied maths topics to maths and engineering undergraduates.

I firmly believe in interactive, problem-focused learning, where my role is to guide the student(s) in studying problems relevant both to the learning objectives and real-world situations, and use the problems as a framework to develop the theory. I am comfortable teaching to individuals and both small and large groups, on a broad range of mathematical topics and related areas, such as physics. I have been described by students in feedback as "consistently exceptional", "an excellent tutor, friendly and engaging" and "enthusiastic, outgoing and helpful". I have also produced explanatory texts for mathematical ideas, one of which was described by a university lecturer as being "of textbook standard".
