About Rose
My name is Rose Finnegan, and I am a 20-year-old recent History Graduate from University College London, where I achieved a First-Class degree. I have a genuine passion for history and enjoy exploring how lessons from the past continue to shape the world today.
My aim as a tutor is to make history engaging, accessible, and relevant while helping students build confidence in their abilities. Having achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE History and an A* at A Level, I understand what exam boards are looking for and can help students develop a strong understanding of key topics, improve their analytical thinking, and master the essay-writing skills needed to achieve top grades. As I completed these qualifications relatively recently, I remember the challenges students face and can explain complex ideas in a clear and approachable way.
In addition to History, I also offer English tutoring. I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE English and an A at A Level, and I can support students with both literary analysis and essay writing, helping them improve their confidence, writing style, and exam technique.

My lessons are interactive and encouraging, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, develop ideas, and build confidence. I break down complex topics into manageable sections, ensuring students have a solid understanding before moving on to more challenging material. I also provide constructive feedback and practical exam strategies to help students improve their essay writing and achieve their academic goals. I offer tutoring for students of all ages, with a particular focus on GCSE and A-level History.
