About Shannen
I am a First Class English graduate with a strong editorial eye, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for inspiring others.
Having achieved 74% in my final project, my interest lies specifically in postcolonial and European literatures, though I have studied and am able to cater to a wide variety of texts and English-based needs (please ask!)
In addition, I have global experience of working with English Speakers of Other Languages, having worked closely with young students in Spain to help develop their English language skills through various teaching methods.

My teaching method is highly responsive and adaptable, based upon open and honest communication.
For students aged 8-18, I provide lessons for differing language levels and abilities, providing support in areas such as reading, writing, listening and speaking. Teaching methods are delivered through flash cards, interactive methods, worksheets and summary questions. With longer texts, mindmaps will be provided to support learning.
For English undergraduates, I provide support in studying a range of literary forms. Focus is placed upon strengthening written and verbal skills, discussion of formal and thematic properties in works, and particularly how to usefully apply theory and critical thinking in your analysis.
Other more general support can include: spelling; essay writing and editing; research methods; dissertation help; and citation help.
