I focus on making concepts feel simple and approachable by breaking them into clear steps and using structured lesson plans. I encourage students to think out loud and problem-solve together. My approach mixes direct explanation with problem-solving skills, so students can build confidence in their skills.
Typical Lesson Plan
Warm-up (5 minutes): Quick review of the last session or a few short practice questions.
Core lesson (25–30 minutes): Step-by-step explanation of a concept or concepts, paired with guided practice problems. Asking questions along the way to check understanding.
Practice & feedback (20 minutes): Studentt work through examples with my support.
Wrap-up (5 minutes): Recap key takeaways, preview next session, and leave 1–2 problems for optional extra practice.
What Sets Me Apart
I’m patient, approachable, and clear in my explanations. I always match the pace of the student. My background in math and computer science has exposed me to a broad range of topics to connect with students on. I also understand that math can feel intimidating, so I strive to create a supportive atmosphere.
Who My Lessons Are For
- Elementary & middle school students needing support in math fundamentals (fractions, decimals, pre-algebra, etc.).
- High school students looking for help in algebra, geometry, precalculus, or intro computer science.
- College students in first and second-year math classes such as calculus, differential equations, or linear algebra.
