About Mamie
As a tutor, I believe patience with students is one of the most important qualities. I pride myself on my patience and strive to work with the student and find the best pace and method for them. I believe that creating a welcoming and friendly environment will help the student feel more comfortable and willing to learn the material and make mistakes. I want my students to make mistakes so we can correct them together. Learning and making mistakes should not be scary or shameful, and I aim to help students be confident and excited to learn.

The tutoring session varies based on the subject, but I always begin by asking if they have any specific questions or problems with martial to ensure the student gets the most out of the session. It is essential for the students to feel comfortable and to completely understand a topic before we move on. Without a strong foundation, it is difficult to move forward with learning with a complete understanding of the material. I want students to feel comfortable, and I aim to make learning enriching and fun.
Once the student best understands any confusion about the material, I believe practice is essential, and I work with students with problems related to the current topic of study and take them step-by-step through how to do each problem until they can confidently complete them on their own.
Throughout my tutoring experience, I have worked with a wide range of students, from elementary school to college age, and have the ability to adapt my methods to the specific student.
