About Alba
I am a recent Chemistry Masters graduate from the University of Edinburgh, currently preparing to begin PhD studies.
I have been tutoring students for 5 years in both languages and sciences, the latter at a higher level. I began tutoring during my A levels. Following my twelve A*-A grades at GCSE, I volunteered to help GCSE students in maths and sciences. I have also been a private tutor to both emerging English and Spanish language learners. More recently I have worked with TeachFirst in their STEM program for high schools.
Beyond academics, I am also a qualified rock climbing instructor. This has provided me with experience tailoring classes to different levels, and most importantly, making them fun!

My aim is to streamline the learning process through teacher-guided student identification of learning needs and targets. Additionally, I advocate for students solving their own questions via inquiry based learning.
The structure of the lesson is dictated by the needs of the students, yet common elements are:
- Brief explanation of topic
- Problem solving and identifying difficulties
- Past paper practice
