About Fernanda
As a native Carioca with a degree in Painting from UFRJ and both a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Literature from PUC-Rio, I bring an interdisciplinary background that blends cultural heritage restoration with academic expertise. Beyond my professional path, I am deeply passionate about conversations involving music, cinema, visual arts, science and the diverse cultures of different countries—interests that I love to incorporate into my classes.

Having lived in Brazil, Portugal, and Germany, my lessons (A2-C1) go far beyond traditional grammar by providing a deep immersion into the 'Brazilian soul'. I conduct classes in English or Spanish, focusing on making the learning process lighthearted and engaging as we explore the facets of Brazilian arts, gastronomy, and the social customs of the country. Furthermore, I offer the possibility of in-person, hands-on sessions in Rio de Janeiro for students visiting the city— specifically for those visiting the historic center — where we can discover hidden gems together. From the beauty of Brazilian architecture and music to the true spirit of Rio, let’s make your Portuguese as authentic as the city I call home.
