About Sarah
Do you keep hearing that your child is not at age related expectations? Have you tried every strategy suggested but they are still not reading like their friends?
My name is Sarah Travers and I am an Online tutor for Reading. Children who work with me:
- quickly close any reading gaps
- have new strategies to try
- become confident readers and learners
The initial session would be an in depth assessment, which I will then use to create a plan for your child to close any reading gaps quickly.
This way I can then use sessions to target their needs efficiently in less time. The plan is bespoke to them. I use appropriately levelled texts on screen along with other resources depending on whether they need phonics, comprehension practice, fluency or vocabulary practice as a result of their initial assessment.
I have been tutoring online since May 2019. I am also a qualified primary teacher and have been teaching in KS2 and Early Years classrooms for over 5 years. This was in the UK and in a British international school in Qatar. I taught using the read write inc phonics program to Reception children on a daily basis and I have recently completed a reading interventionist course.
