About Joey
Hi there! My name is Joey and I graduated VCE in 2024. I graduated in the top 2% of my cohort and received a raw 42 study score in English. Now, I’m studying a Bachelor of Arts at Monash University, majoring in history and minoring in literary studies. I’m passionate about teaching and the humanities - I was lucky enough to adore the subjects I completed in high school, and am committed to instilling this love in other students!
I have experience tutoring both classroom style and informal one-on-one lessons via summer tutoring programs in English, Economics, Legal Studies, and Extended Investigation, and received feedback that my lessons were engaging, well-structured, and well adapted to student’s needs.

My lessons are flexible and tailored to my student’s needs and learning styles, while still keeping in line with the relevant curriculum. I am focused on building confidence, skills, and independence. I do this by:
- Providing exam/essay writing techniques and advice
- Supporting students in developing complex and original academic thoughts to bring into assessments
- Facilitating connections between content points to develop well-rounded understanding of concepts
- Providing marked feedback upon request
- Providing resources for extension and practice
My lessons are suitable for year 7-12 students, and I am happy to teach all English, Humanities, and Extended Investigation subjects. I offer one-hour lessons weekly, fortnightly, or monthly, or one-off lessons before assessments.
