Joel is one of my absolute ‘go-to’ tutors for workshop sessions with our actors at The Ten. He brings so much valuable experience, professionalism, insight, innovation and honesty to his creative practice that it goes such a long way in reminding our young actors just how brave they can be with their work if they are committed to applying a whole range of practices and techniques (all of which Joel teaches with ease and precision!.) His communication is superb and he is able to stay reactive to our changing learning needs. When it came to our Shakespeare workshop, the feedback from our actors was mind-blowing - all of whom said they were able to access the classical text, not only more easily and efficiently but also with mores understanding and perhaps most importantly ENJOYMENT! I couldn’t recommend Joel enough and I know I will be leaning on his acting expertise for many years to come.

Joel is a wonderful actor, with industry experience in both television and screen he has years of experience allowing him to bring excellence and a variety of experiences to his students. He has worked in high calibre educational settings, running safe, collaborative and disciplined lessons. I trained with Joel at RADA and have only ever seen him treat colleagues and students with respect, holding up the high standards he wants to see people uphold in the profession. Joel takes the well-being of students seriously, whilst setting the bar high for his students when it comes to developing their performance skills and craft - that will undoubtedly lead the lucky students he teaches to interesting and varied experiences and careers in the arts. I cannot recommend Joel highly enough.

Joel is a brilliant acting coach. Whenever I have an audition I am not sure how to approach, I book in a session with him. He is incredibly friendly and perceptive, and always immediately puts me at ease, however stressed I might be feeling! I always leave the sessions feeling lighter, and having discovered a new way to approach the text, and also actually enjoying performing it too. He has such a wealth of experience and passion for acting which shines through, and I know I am a much better - and calmer! - performer thanks to his guidance.
