About Max
As a fourth-year Honors Applied Economics student at Queen’s University, I’ve built a strong academic foundation in mathematics, statistics, and economics, and I’ve successfully helped students improve their performance in Functions, Calculus, and introductory Economics. I understand what teachers and professors expect, and I focus on preparing students not just to complete assignments, but to perform confidently on tests and exams.
Beyond academics, I bring years of leadership and instructional experience from mentoring and managing youth programs, which has strengthened my communication skills, patience, and professionalism. I show up prepared, organized, and committed to each student’s progress. My goal is to create a supportive, focused environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, challenged to improve, and confident in their ability to succeed.

As a tutor, I take a structured, concept-first approach that focuses on building real understanding and long-term confidence. I start by clearly explaining the logic behind a topic, then work through step-by-step examples before guiding students through independent practice so they can apply the material on their own. A typical lesson includes a quick review, focused concept explanation, worked examples, and exam-style practice questions. As a fourth-year Honours Applied Economics student at Queen’s who has previously tutored Functions, Calculus, and Economics, I combine strong quantitative training with practical teaching experience. My lessons are ideal for high school students (Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus) and introductory university students in calculus or economics who want clearer explanations, stronger fundamentals, and better exam performance.
