About Yongqiang
I have been a primary school English teacher in China for seventeen years. I moved to Durham in 2018 and have been teaching Chinese and painting since then. I believe my rich experiences in teaching and communicating with students and parents could greatly help students with their study and personal development.

I have had rich experience in teaching primary school students English and painting, and coordinating interactive education activities for them. In the seventeen years of teaching in China, I actively engaged in the development of lesson plans, preparation for course materials, and event coordination. I have also been a passionate advocate for identifying the needs and supporting the growth and success of different groups of students. Through careful preparation of lessons, I was able to tailor in-class activities to maintain the interest of outstanding students without dampening the enthusiasm of slow students. Besides daily teaching responsibilities, I also led educational activities for students, including the interactive ‘Super English’ course and the Halloween and Christmas parties every year. These activities effectively enhanced the learning experiences of students. Since I moved to Durham in 2018, I have been teaching Chinese at Durham Chinese School and other primary schools. I also provide painting tutorials (including traditional Chinese painting, colour pencil, acrylic etc.) to students of all ages online.
