About Oscar
Economics has always been my passion — both academically and professionally. I currently work as an economist in the UK civil service, where I recently completed a Master’s in Economics with distinction. I studied Economics at the University of Bristol and have since applied my knowledge in both government policy and education.
I began my teaching career through the Teach First graduate programme, teaching maths at Bradford Forster Academy from 2018 to 2020. Alongside this, I completed a Master’s in Education, also with distinction. Since 2020, I’ve focused on tutoring Economics, helping GCSE and A-Level students build strong foundations, master exam technique, and develop real confidence in the subject.
I achieved A* grades in Economics, Maths, Further Maths, and Politics at A-level — and I bring the same enthusiasm, clarity, and rigour to every lesson. My approach is friendly, patient, and tailored to each student’s goals and learning style.

I tailor each lesson to suit the individual needs of the student, adapting both structure and delivery to maximise progress. As a former classroom teacher, I bring a wide range of tried-and-tested resources and teaching methods, allowing me to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible way.
Throughout my teaching career, I’ve found that tracking progress is key to building confidence and improving results. That’s why I regularly use past papers to identify specific areas for development, then break down those topics into manageable steps to strengthen understanding and exam technique.
In addition to my teaching experience, I offer real-world insight from my current role as an economist in the UK civil service - helping students see how Economics applies beyond the classroom and making learning more engaging and meaningful.
