Mrs Swan as I knew her, is an incredible teacher. This is not only because of her professionalism, knowledge and communication skills, but also largely due to her caring nature. Debbie cares about all students individually and takes time to understand you to ensure you are happy and understand everything she is teaching. This is invaluable as a teacher and in my experience, lacks in the current education system as teachers seem only to care about students with higher grades to ensure the school has better results.

Debbie however, I have found in her teaching me over a 4/5-year period, cares about all students and wants everyone to succeed no matter your current ability. She strives for excellence in everything she does and is so approachable and happy to help everyone even students that she is not specifically teaching. Debbie, as a previous personal tutor of mine, is able to help, advise and comfort you in all areas of life to ensure you are at your happiest as it is only when you are happy and not overwhelmed that you best learn and progress. I knew nothing about Politics before year 11 and Debbie advised me to take it up at A-level. Thanks to her advice and teaching I am now studying Politics and International Relations at the University of Birmingham.

This guidance was priceless helping me to find an area of academia that I thoroughly enjoy and wish to pursue later in life. Debbie was only able to recommend this subject to me because she made the effort and took the time to get to know me as her student understanding subject and topics I might enjoy or dislike. Debbie's teaching took me from a nervous boy who knew little to nothing about politics to now a university student who often takes part in political debates and conversations in university seminars and with lecturers outside of seminars. Debbie was a key part of my progression into adult life and without her guidance I can truly say I would not be the happy, hardworking and conscientious student I am today.

I cannot recommend Debbie enough she went above and beyond for me as my teacher and did so for all her students no matter their ability so that everyone was able to achieve their best.

Debbie is a very good tutor for numerous reasons. One might say she is the full-package when it comes to teaching! She has precise factual knowledge and is able to incorporate these into her teaching ensuring that the information taught is correct. Debbie is very good at teaching students to learn from within - encouraging students to find information for themselves through wider reading and make their own judgments. The skills I learnt from Debbie whilst she taught me will stay with me forever, especially the advice for analytical work I was producing. I am now confident in expressing my opinion and voicing my ideas and this is largely down to Debbie.
Debbie is trustworthy because she has proven her teaching skills with previous student's grades (and sending pupils to Oxford university!) It doesn't matter what level you are at, Debbie is flexible and able to exploit your best skills whilst also improving and working on your downfalls. In addition to her teaching, Debbie is a wonderful human being! Very caring, sweet, bubbly, funny and she was like our 'school mother'. If ever we had a problem, with work or at home, it was easy to approach her and if you have the pleasure of being taught by her, you will feel the same warmth. This is especially good because it means you can take advantage of Debbie's listening skills if you don't understand a certain topic or piece of work, so you'll never miss out from not being able to approach her.

I fully recommend Debbie Swan to anyone wishing to extend their skills and knowledge, and make a great friend in the process!
