I'm Chris – a fully qualified, experienced primary school teacher and tutor with over a decade of experience working across Years 1 to 6. As a neurodivergent educator (dyslexic and dyspraxic), I bring not only professional expertise but also lived understanding and empathy into every session I teach. I specialise in English, reading, writing, and SATs preparation, with a particular focus on building confidence and making learning accessible for all children, especially those who are neurodivergent or may struggle in traditional classroom settings. My teaching style is warm, encouraging, and tailored to your child’s unique needs. Lessons are structured, engaging, and full of praise. I use creative, multi-sensory methods and real-life examples to bring learning to life and help students build lasting understanding—not just short-term results. Whether your child needs extra support, stretch and challenge, or a confidence boost, I’m here to help them thrive. I teach both online and in-person (Leicestershire-based) and offer flexible, personalised sessions that put wellbeing and progress side-by-side. About My Lessons I specialise in primary English tutoring (KS1–KS2) with a strong focus on neurodivergent learners. My sessions are ideal for children aged 5–11, including those preparing for SATs, struggling with confidence, or needing a more inclusive approach to reading, writing, or SPaG. Teaching Method & Techniques As a dyslexic and dyspraxic educator myself, I bring empathy and first-hand understanding to every session. My approach is warm, flexible, and learner-led. I use multi-sensory methods, break down tasks into manageable steps, and adapt each lesson to suit your child’s strengths, needs, and interests. I build trust and confidence first, then use that strong foundation to support academic progress. Whether it's turning writing into a creative story game or using real-life contexts to teach grammar, my goal is always to make learning feel safe, fun, and achievable. Lesson Structure Sessions typically run for 60 minutes, though I also offer 45-minute options for younger learners or those with attention differences. Lessons are structured with clear objectives, lots of praise, and regular feedback. Experience & Qualifications I’m a qualified teacher with over 10 years’ experience across Years 1 to 6. I’ve tutored pupils with a wide range of learning profiles, including ADHD, autism, dyslexia, speech and language delays, and more. I’ve also delivered CPD to teachers on supporting neurodivergent learners.
