About Clara
Hello! My name is Clara, and I am a qualified teacher with a B.Ed specialising in Mathematics and English. I have three years of teaching experience working with primary school learners in subjects including Mathematics, English, Art and Drama.
As a teacher, I am patient, encouraging and approachable. I understand that learning can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when a student has struggled with a subject in the past. My goal is to explain concepts clearly, build confidence and create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans and can teach and explain concepts in either language. I enjoy making lessons interactive and adapting my approach to suit each student's individual needs and learning style.

My lessons are supportive, engaging and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style and explanations to suit their level, learning pace and areas of difficulty.
I offer Mathematics and English lessons and focus on helping students understand concepts rather than simply memorising answers. In Mathematics, I break challenging concepts into simple, manageable steps and use practical examples to build understanding and confidence. In English, I can assist with grammar, vocabulary, reading, comprehension, pronunciation and conversational skills.
I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans and am comfortable teaching in either language. Students can expect a relaxed and encouraging learning environment where they are free to ask questions and make mistakes without feeling pressured.
A typical lesson includes a short introduction or review, a clear explanation of the topic, guided examples and opportunities for the student to practise independently with my support. I also identify areas where the student may need additional help and adjust future lessons accordingly.
My lessons are ideal for school-aged learners who need extra support, want to improve their results or would simply like to become more confident in Mathematics or English.
