About Kate
First and foremost I am a mother, so I understand how scary and challenging exams can be. I am also an English graduate and legal professional. If I am teaching Creative Writing, I can give you knacks to give you confidence in the exam. Being a legal professional and having studied extensively both in my Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees, I have advanced English drafting skills. I can assist with proofreading, grammar-checking and dissertation styles / finessing.

I am a mother whose child only recently completed their 11+ exams at top ranked London Selective independent schools. My child secured three offers and in each case their Creative Writing was called out as exceptional. I am not a qualified teacher, but I do know how to help children learn how to craft engaging and colourful creative pieces in the exams. I focus on how the piece sounds and feels rather than cramming the child's head with technical terms. Once they have a sense for what a good piece looks and feels like, the use of advanced vocab, similes, metaphors and personification becomes a natural part of their writing. I have been asked by other parents at the prep school to assist children in the same way.
