About Alex
I graduated in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Glasgow and I also have a Masters in Applied Mathematics with Distinction. I qualified as a teacher with the Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Aberdeen and hold professional QTS teaching status. I have several years experience teaching and tutoring in state and private UK schools in Mathematics, Physics and Science.
Most recently I have worked as a quantitative an analyst in ‘The City’. I understand the important application of Mathematics and Physics and can help bring the subjects alive.

I previously taught in UK schools for several years. I am therefore used to successfully communicating challenging mathematical concepts in a manner which all students can grasp.
I offer tailored tuition to hone in on specific problem areas, using a variety of online resources , past papers and the interactive whiteboard feature of Zoom. A key focus will be using past papers and getting students up to speed in exams and being able to answer questions. However, it’s important to go over key concepts and using a series of online resources, and interactive teaching on the whiteboard, I ensure students have the necessary conceptual grasp of the subject being tested.
Tutoring provided up to ‘A’ Level, Higher and I.B. in a patient, understanding manner.
