About Sue
I'm a qualified ESL teacher with a Level 5 TEFL diploma. As a language learner myself, both of French and Mandarin, I experienced the good and bad parts of language learning and decided to train to teach English to others. Since then I've been working with adults, mainly of Chinese background, to develop their speaking and listening skills so they can create links outside their own language community. I get really excited seeing the students' enjoyment in mastering something new and being able to create new friendships.

I'm a qualified TEFL teacher who believes that language learning should be both enjoyable and effective. Knowing that what you are saying is natural gives you the confidence to speak. Adult students particularly are worried about being embarrassed, so my classes are relaxed and encouraging, teaching vocabulary and grammar where needed and working on speaking and listening skills for daily life. I use a variety of resources from real life to teach comfortable natural communication. The level and content are adapted to each student's needs. My aim is for all students to see real progress, so I offer extra material to be used between sessions to allow the best use of our time together.
