About Shereen
Hello! I'm a qualified English teacher, proud mother of three boys, and passionate educator who believes every child deserves to feel confident, capable and supported in their learning journey.
I hold a **Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology (Cum Laude)** and a **Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) (Cum Laude)**, both from the University of South Africa (UNISA). Over the past **12 years**, I have taught English in both classroom settings and through one-on-one tuition, helping learners from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
As both a teacher and a parent, I understand that no two children learn in the same way. My goal is to meet each learner where they are, build on their strengths, and tailor every lesson to suit their individual learning style, interests and pace. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing their thoughts and expressing when they don't understand something. My lessons are a judgement-free space where curiosity is encouraged and mistakes are seen as opportunities to learn.
I am passionate about helping learners improve not only their English ability but also their self-confidence. I strive to make lessons engaging, enjoyable and relevant, finding creative ways to connect with each student so that learning feels rewarding rather than overwhelming.
Above all, I hope to inspire a genuine love of reading. I believe that reading is one of the most powerful ways to expand vocabulary, strengthen comprehension, improve writing skills and develop a lifelong appreciation for the English language.
I specialise in teaching English to learners in Grades 4–10 and would love the opportunity to help your child grow into a confident, capable English learner.

Every lesson is tailored to each learner's individual needs, learning style and academic goals. Whether a student needs support with homework, preparation for tests and examinations, or simply wants to improve their overall English ability, I provide a structured, engaging and encouraging learning environment where they can grow in confidence.
Lessons focus on developing essential English skills, including reading accuracy, fluency and comprehension, grammar, parts of speech (such as nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs), spelling, vocabulary, creative and transactional writing, literature, poetry, language analysis, and effective examination techniques. I also teach practical study strategies that help learners become more independent and confident in their abilities.
My teaching approach is patient, supportive and interactive. I believe every learner has the potential to succeed when they receive the right guidance and encouragement. By adapting each lesson to suit the learner's pace and goals, I aim to make English enjoyable while helping students achieve lasting academic success.
I teach English to learners in Grades 4–10 and am committed to helping every student build the skills and confidence they need to excel both inside and outside the classroom.
