About Emma
ABOUT ME- I am a friendly, reliable professional with over 20 years of domestic and international experience working as a teacher in a variety of settings including, schools, colleges and adult learning centres. I am fully qualified to teach primary aged children and English as a second language (ESOL). I understand some of the difficulties non-English speakers can face when living in a new country with an unfamiliar culture. I am very accommodating and take pride in providing good quality teaching to all I have worked with. My qualifications include: PGCE with qualified teacher status, Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in teaching English language to adults), and a BSc in Psychology with Sociology. I am a calm and patient teacher who listens to my learners and is dedicated to helping people to reach their full potential. WHAT I OFFER- Key stage 1 and 2 maths and English tuition, including preparing for the year 6 SATs. English lessons for speakers of other languages including, conversational English, grammar and pronunciation lessons. Online phonics, reading and maths lessons for children in EYFS and key stage. MY APPROACH - After an informal assessment, I set achievable goals for my students to work towards and monitor their progress regularly. I feel I can best meet student’s learning needs if I am aware of their prior knowledge and learning style suited to them. When planning lessons I aim to provide my students with rewarding learning experiences, that are well planned and delivered in an actively engaging way. HOW I TEACH ONLINE- Lessons are taught through the Zoom application, which enables myself and the learner to share our screens, use a virtual whiteboard and communicate with each other, just as though we are in the same room. It’s a very convenient and comfortable way to learn. Lessons are typically 45 minutes to one hour.

Emma has been an amazing teacher for my kids, it’s been over a year. I believe a good teacher has a lifetime impact on kids, I can see the difference how she has helped them grow, learn and develop academically. I always felt that it’s difficult for young kids to concentrate and learn over an online class but Emma proved me wrong, the way she connects with the kids is remarkable, they are focused through out the class. Emma is an incredible teacher, kids have improved so much over the time.I would like to thank Emma for her handwork and dedication. She is definitely recommend as a best teacher in my experience.
