About Laurike
I am a qualified teacher with a BA in Languages, a PGCE and a National Diploma in Fine Art. I am an energetic, creative and approachable person who enjoys making learning feel less intimidating and more enjoyable. I love working with young people and creating a relaxed environment where students can be themselves, ask questions and build confidence. Afrikaans is my first language, and I am also fluent in English. My background in both languages and art allows me to bring creativity into my teaching and connect with students in different ways. I believe learning should be engaging, encouraging and, most importantly, something students can enjoy.

My lessons are relaxed, supportive and adapted to each student’s individual needs and learning style.
Afrikaans is my first language, and I am also fluent in English, which allows me to explain Afrikaans concepts clearly to both Afrikaans and English-speaking students. I offer lessons in Afrikaans, English and Art, from school-level support to students wanting to improve their general language or creative skills. Lessons can focus on grammar, comprehension, writing, vocabulary, conversation, schoolwork or specific areas where a student needs extra help. My aim is to create an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building confidence at their own pace.
