About Emily
I am a fully qualified enthusiastic secondary school teacher of German and Spanish. I have 5 years experience of teaching and offering support sessions to students that need a little more help. I have taught beginners, intermediate and native German speakers with reading, listening, writing and speaking skills and can tutor students studying GCSE, A Level and the International Baccalaureate. I studied German and Spanish at University College London which included a year studying at the University of Cologne in Germany. Upon graduating, I trained to become a teacher and within a year of qualifying, I became the Lead Teacher of German at my school. During my time as Lead Teacher, I managed to triple the amount of students achieving a grade 7-9 grade at GCSE and double the amount of student achieving a grade 5 and above by implementing a manageable and differentiated revision programme.

I use various online revision platforms which my students can access 24/7 and I can track their progress throughout the week, as well as providing resources to keep my students immersed in the language between tutoring sessions, including newspaper articles, short stories, music and videos. In our first session, I will assess your level of German and create a tutoring schedule accordingly to achieve the goals we set together. Each session is differentiated based on the needs of the student, ranging from conversational sessions delivered entirely in German to slow paced lessons delivered in fluent English to explain any grammatical concepts you may be struggling with. I am an incredibly enthusiastic teacher and very adaptable based on the needs of my students.
