About Julia
My first creative writing publication is set to release by the end of the year in the Brussels Review. I spent one year in high school as an English Teaching Assistant grading papers, editing essays, and contributing to class discussions about reading comprehension and literacy. I write a personal lifestyle blog and currently have multiple pieces under submission at various literary magazines. I have recently applied to multiple Master's programs in Creative Writing and am looking to gain teaching experience.
My goal is to inspire students to find their love for literature and writing. I believe that everyone can enjoy reading and become an excellent writer; it's just about developing the tools to do so.

I work with students age 10-18 who are struggling with primarily reading and writing assignments for school or college applications. A typical session might look like going over the assignment with the student, brainstorming how to proceed with completing the assignment, offering feedback and suggestions, and motivating the student to ask questions.
I have a Bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University with a heavy focus on reading and writing, and a minor concentration in creative writing.
