About Cheryl
I enjoy tutoring students, especially from kindergarten age through 5th grade. I am a published writer and enjoy creative and fun approaches to learning. In the past I have worked with students through songs, dance, spelling and word games and even yoga poses. I believe that the body also has learning muscles which can be used to strengthen memory and other learning skills. Literacy can also be supported through story telling and exchange. These are a few examples from my teaching tool belt.

I individualize my lessons to support the students strengths and interests. I include teaching methods to address visual, auditory and kinesthetic (hands on learning) If a student has a specific interest in outer space, for example, vocabulary and spelling lessons would include words from astronomy.
