About Philina
Hi, I am Philina, a native German speaker with C2-level English and a strong academic background in Business, Psychology, and Media Studies.
I have always enjoyed working with students and helping them build confidence in their abilities. Through my experience supporting younger students, I have learned how important it is to adapt explanations to different learning styles and create a comfortable, encouraging environment where students feel able to ask questions and improve at their own pace.
As an English tutor, I focus not only on grammar and vocabulary, but also on helping students express themselves clearly and confidently. Whether it’s improving writing, speaking, or overall understanding, I aim to make lessons structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs.
I am patient, reliable, and genuinely invested in my students’ progress. My goal is to help you feel more confident using English, both academically and in everyday situations.

I have over 5 years of experience in tutoring and have started when I was a high school student myself. I am highly adaptable with my teaching style, depending on the needs of the student. Whether it is Audio based, reading based or visual based learning.
I am especially experienced in teaching younger students (7-15 years), but I have also tutored older students. Additionally I have the Teen Mental Health First Aid certificate and am very experienced in working with other students, even in stressful situations.
I normally do a 45 minute lesson and 15 minutes of reflection and revision of what we have done to deepen the knowledge.
