About Carmen
I am a Psychologist and I have worked in violence prevention in civil associations with adolescents and adults. I have also worked in the prevention of cognitive impairment in patients with Parkinson's. Since 2019 I have taught private English to adults and teenagers. I have also taught Spanish to English speakers.

I work with the objectives of my students, the first session is exclusively to identify what are the goals of the student and for what it requires to obtain a certain level of English. This allows me to identify what we need to accomplish in order to reach that goal, and it is important to know the motivation of the student, so that he remembers the importance of following the study plan. I offer 3 types of advice: 1. General English: focused on the 4 language areas (listening, reading, writing and speaking). I like to assign tasks, use articles, books and audios that are of interest to the student. I also do small tests to determine if the student is progressing and that we need to improve. 2. Conversation: This type of class is aimed at those students who wish to improve their fluency, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. It can be for a job / academic interview or for the Speaking section of the IELTS exam. 3. IELTS Preparation: I have an IELTS academic certificate with a band score of 6.5 (this level is in most of the academic programs necessary to study a master's or doctorate abroad) In this type of class, I work with 4 books: reading , listening and speaking, writing and pronunciation. I use test exams to prepare for the exam and I give you based on your performance, your estimated band score for reading, listening and speaking. The first step is to identify what your goals are, your areas of opportunity and strength and based on this, design a curriculum that meets your needs.

Realiza un seguimiento puntual y resuelve la mínima duda que se genera en una sesión, siendo objetiva, clara y paciente con los alumnos. Una muy buena opción para adquirir conocimientos.
Conozco a Carmen desde hace varios años ya que coincidimos en la universidad, es una persona muy dedicada y siempre me gustó cómo exponía sus clases frente al grupo. Siempre investiga lo que va a compartir, es muy paciente al momento de resolver dudas y flexible para escuchar otros puntos de vista, le gusta impulsar a otros al mundo del aprendizaje. A Carmen tengo de conocerla desde hace 7 años y durante ese tiempo la he visto desarrollarse en el ámbito académico, específicamente en el idioma inglés, desde lo más básico hasta lo más complejo de este idioma.
