About Emma
Hi, potential student! My name is Emma and I'm a graduating senior, and yes, that may seem relatively young for a tutor, but it really means that the constant prep is very recent for me. I've been tutoring PSAT/SAT since sophomore year, and the very first time I took the SAT was 7th grade for Duke TIP (I got a 1360). Personally, I've taken the SAT for real twice, with scores of 1560 and 1580 respectively after studying for a summer straight. I have a lot of experience hosting tutoring sessions as President of my school's Mu Alpha Theta Chapter and working with students my age, younger, and even older than me. I've also been working professionally with Texas Tutor Team for upwards of 4 months, so I have experience in most subjects - namely math, science, and English. I have done plenty of research and have experience with many students, and I've raised their scores by an average of ~270 points. Feel free to contact me for a quick chat!

When prepping for the PSAT/SAT, a lot of tutors/classes/programs will promise that if you use their "special tricks", it'll raise your score instantly.
The fact is, the only thing that works consistently is practice - and not just mindlessly doing practice tests, but consciously going through and understanding the types of questions and answers that you'll see and taking efforts to practice these specific types of questions.
Something a little different with me is that I'll most of the time have you actually do the test beforehand and go over the problems you miss + problems like it!
Of course, once we fix some of the easier mistakes, we can talk about general strategies - but most of the time, we'll be grinding problems and technique. Good luck on your SATs!
