About Abel
I am a professional violinist and alumnus of the Royal College of Music. I've been teaching violin as well as recorder for the last three years. I've been a peripatetic violin teacher in numerous schools, teaching one-to-one and in groups ranging from small (around 4) to medium (around 10) in different age groups. I have experience teaching complete beginners and young students usually 7-year-olds all the way up to advanced levels of different age groups. Parallel to my teaching activities, I've been active as a performing violinist, playing in solo recitals, chamber music concerts and collaborating with various leading orchestras in the U.K. and abroad. I've also specialised in historically informed performance and the specific styles of playing of different musical periods.

Having acquired a Bachelor's degree in violin performance, Master's degree in Performance as well as an Artist Diploma, I am comfortable teaching a very wide range of students from complete beginners to advanced students. I believe that having extensive first-hand experience in performing in public and with various different ensembles and groups is very influential and inspiring for young students. I am a strong proponent of having a solid understanding and teaching technique as having a strong and secure technical foundation on any instrument is key to progressing faster and more efficiently. Therefore, warm-up exercises and techniques are a very important part of my methodology. Having said that, I believe it's also important to always apply technical concepts as soon as possible to music and making such concepts as less abstract as possible. As a specialist in historical performance, I have a thorough understanding of various different styles of playing and knowledge of the violin's evolution and Organology.
