About Kaia
I have over 6 years of experience teaching violin and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory with a specialisation in violin. I enjoy guiding adult beginners and returning players through jazz, blues, folk, easy classical, and worship music. Improvisation and personal creativity are central to my lessons.
I use simple exercises, ergonomic positioning, and mindfulness to make playing comfortable and enjoyable. Students develop confidence, tone, rhythm, and expressive abilities while exploring music creatively. Lessons encourage personal expression and playful experimentation.
I support learners at their own pace, helping them rediscover the violin with freedom and joy. Each session combines technical skill-building with creative exploration. Together, we make music rewarding, inspiring, and fun.

I teach violin with a strong focus on applied music theory. Lessons cover keys, scales, intervals, and chords directly on the fingerboard. Students learn not only to play, but to understand the music behind the notes.
I work with choir members, musical theatre enthusiasts, and exam learners. Each exercise connects theory to practical playing, improving technique and musical insight. Students practise scales, intervals, and chords in context.
My methodology emphasises hands-on application, so theory strengthens performance and sight-reading. Lessons include demonstrations, guided practice, and interactive exercises. Students gain confidence, musical knowledge, and expressive skills.
I encourage learners to ask questions and think critically. Every lesson is tailored to skill level and goals. Together, we develop skilled, knowledgeable, and expressive violinists.
