About Dakota
I am currently a working trombonist in New Orleans and look forward to sharing my knowledge from years of education as well as years of playing on gigs. As a working musician I have played a variety of styles including Jazz, Latin, Top 40, Classical and more. My education includes a Bachelors in Trombone Performance where I studied under the principle trombonist in the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra as well as a Masters in Jazz Studies from the University of New Orleans.

As a teacher I believe in a set of core fundamentals that lead to a strong base in any playing situation while also building a lesson plan that pushes towards your personal musical goals. I believe I have something to offer for a variety of players needs from starting the trombone as a beginner to trying to make High School All State to trying to play in a gigging situation or just playing for enjoyment as a hobbyist. I look forward to possibly being part of your musical journey and your development as a trombonist.
