About Lauren
I am a professional and bilingual (English/Spanish) ESL/EFL teacher with over 16 years of relevant experience from the United States, but I have lived and worked abroad since 2008.
I am proud to possess an MA in teaching ESOL degree as well as two bachelor of arts degrees in secondary education and Spanish from American University (Washington, DC). Moreover, having taught in the United States, South Korea, and the distinguished American International School of Buenos Aires (Asociación Escuelas Lincoln), I have relevant and ample experience working with, for, and around individuals from all over the world. These people have come from a wide range of cultural, national, and linguistic backgrounds with equally diverse needs, reasons, and accommodations for learning English.
Furthermore, over the years, I have completed different courses related to professional development, such as implementing differentiated instruction as well as the WIDA (World-class Instructional Design and Assessment) evaluation system for English language learners.

My personal philosophy of language learning has to do with the three "R"s- that if the information is RIGOROUS, personally RELEVANT to the student, and has to do with the REAL world, in the long run it will be more a valuable, long-term learning experience. I also know that each student has a different way of learning, so I use a variety of teaching methods.
