My approach to tutoring is centered around making difficult concepts understandable while helping students build the confidence to work independently. I adapt my teaching style to each student rather than relying on a single method.
I typically begin by identifying what the student already understands and where they are struggling. I then break complex concepts into smaller steps, using clear explanations, examples, and guided practice. I encourage students to explain their reasoning and ask questions so I can identify gaps in their understanding. Rather than simply correcting mistakes, I help students understand why they made them.
A typical lesson begins with a short review, followed by instruction on the day's topic. We then work through examples together before transitioning to independent practice. I finish by reviewing key concepts and identifying areas to focus on before the next lesson.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine strong communication skills with a technical background. I have experience tutoring English, mathematics, test preparation, and computer science, including programming fundamentals, AP Computer Science, Algebra II, and SAT/ACT preparation.
My lessons are primarily designed for middle-school, high-school, and college students, including those who need foundational support, exam preparation, or additional help understanding challenging material.
